And Watched Out For A Simple Twist Of Fate

Prompt from her space my space is twist

To form into a bent, curled or distorted shape

Lyrics from "Simple Twist Of Fate" by Bob Dylan
They sat together in the park
As the evening sky grew dark,
She looked at him and he felt a spark tingle to his bones
'Twas then he felt alone and wished that he'd gone straight
And watched out for a simple twist of fate

The Day After The Night Before

Firstly a big thank you to everyone who left me Birthday Wishes. Today, I am brain dead, but the lovely day I had yesterday was worth it. Lunch with two sisters, one daughter and one niece in a pub...yes I said pub...and I even managed a glass of red wine, sheer decadence drinking in the middle of the day. Got a phone call from my daughter K who is in Greece, she and 10 of her friends singing happy birthday down the phone was a delight, I think that may have been when my brain started decomposing, but at least I now know that she is alive and can sing :).
The plan with my friend Victoria did not go according to plan, but it will, one day soon.

I am overly excited at receiving this gift

My new baby, a Fuji S1000FD. Have only this morning managed to take it out of the box, spent the last hour trying to fit the strap (wrongly) and cannot wait to start snapping. It is an ideal camera for me because of the weight, I am familiar with most of the settings and it has a much better zoom than my A900. Am so looking forward to getting in amongst the flowers to try the super macro mode.

Got two important dates coming up

Tuesday is my daughter G's graduation
Saturday my nephews wedding

I am trying not to feel anxious about both these events, I need to switch off my thoughts of how I will feel on the day and my hopes that I will manage as they are almost as draining as the actual events.

Going now to make a cuppa, stroke my new camera some more and hopefully/perhaps/maybe take some photographs oh and perhaps look at the manual.

I Can't Stay On Your Life Support

Theme at her space my space is support
To hold up or bear weight.

For most people they have no problem with this type of support, but in my case "not a lot" just when you need them they let you down, thats gratitude for you!!!

Lyrics from "Just Like A Pill" by Pink

I can't stay on your life support,
there's a shortage in the switch,
I can't stay on your morphine,
cuz its making me itch
I said I tried to call the nurse again
but shes being a little bitch,
I think I'll get outta here, where I can
Run just as fast as I can
To the middle of nowhere To the middle of my frustrated fears
And I swear you're just like a pill
Instead of makin' me better, you keep makin' me ill
You keep makin' me ill

Bleep Bleep Bleeeeeep...Oh how I wish it would stop. It takes me by surprise every time, I look around wondering whats bleeping. I scream at it "STOP" but it does not listen. I scream at it
"I AM DOING IT", but it does not listen. I am talking about my car. Bleeps followed by a flashing message.

Bleep ...... fasten your seat belt
Bleep....... car not in park
Bleep....... remove keys from ignition
Bleep....... door not closed

Anyone would think I had a problem driving
I say I am testing Citroen's safety features
My wise daughter would say"Mum you need it"

New Girl In Town

Yet another hairy monkee, this time for my friend Victoria who is severely affected with ME. She is housebound for the majority of the time, but occasionally we manage adventures. When we get out for a airing,we should come with a health warning"Beware These Two Don't Know What There Doing"

Hopefully Victoria will get her on Friday (we have a plan...and that's scary) but meanwhile she has become a Big Brother fan

Ripe And Bearing Miracles

Prompt from HSMS is ripe

Developed to the point of readiness

Lyrics from "Soldier Blue" by Buffy Sainte Marie, this song sends chills right through me, from the movie Soldier Blue, it tells the story of the vicious slaughter of the Cheyenne Indians during the Sand Creek Massacre of 1864. A powerful film which stays firmly in my memory. It made me cry. The history is cruel and sad and I cant help be reminded about the troubles in Iraq and Afghanistan, and wonder did we learn anything ?

Yes this is my country.

Young and growing.

Free and flowing. See to see.

Yes, this is my country.

Ripe and bearing miracles in ever pond and tree.

Her spirit walks the high country.

She’s giving free wild samples.

And setting an example how to give

Pushed Back Her Fringe

Prompt at Her Space My Space is fringe

An ornamental edge or a natural border to hair

Lyrics from "For The Price Of A Cup Of Tea" by Belle and Sebastian

She just wants to be accepted in this place
There's something in her face
She will always seem exotic and aloof
If you want to know the truth
Her friend the stars dripping from the jewelled sky
When she was passing by
Would keep her calm
There was people that she knew, at least she thought she did
Be easy on the kid!
She took her winter coat from her plastic wrapper
Pushed back her fringe, see her birthmark
She can finally be the person she wanted to be

Nice....The Good News

The good old NICE guidlines are in the limelight again, although this time things are looking more positive for people with ME.
Last August NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence ) issued guidlines for the treatment of ME/CFS. In the guidelines, NICE refused to classify ME as "a disease of the nervous system", as the World Health Organisation has done, and recommended treatments which could be"harmful to patients" i.e cognitive behavioural therapy(CBT) and graded exercise therapy (GET).
NICE also specifically advised against the use of other types of treatment – in particular antiviral drugs. Consequently, doctors would not be able to obtain funding for treatments that were not recommended or were being proscribed (ie forbidden) by NICE in the guideline.
The good news is that two ME sufferer's have won a significant legal victory after a leading judge declared it "in the public interest" for the High Court to rule on claims that these treatments being offered on the NHS are "potentially fatal".
The case will now go ahead to a full High Court hearing. A brilliant outcome, and perhaps the most positive ME news ever.

Neath The Halo Of A Street Lamp

Prompt from her space my space is lamp
A device for giving light

Lyrics from "The Sound Of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkle

Hello darkness, my old friend
Ive come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of
A neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

He Just Dehydrated And Died

Prompt At Her Space MySpace is hydrate

To fill or absorb with water

Lyrics from "The Man Who Couldn't Cry" by Johnny Cash.......a bit of a cheat as the word is dehydrated.

He was removed from jail and placed in a place
For the insensitive and the insane
He played lots of chess and made lots of friends
And he wept every time it would rain
Once it rained forty days and it rained forty nights
And he cried and he cried and he cried and he cried
On the forty-first day, he passed away
He just dehydrated and died

Like The Drip Drip Drip Of The Raindrops

Prompt at her space my space is drip

To let small drops of liquid fall

Lyrics from "Night And Day" by Cole Porter

Like the drip drip drip of the raindrops
When the summer shower is through
So a voice within me keeps repeating you, you, you
Night and day, you are the one
Only you beneath the moon or under the sun
Whether near to me, or far
It`s no matter darling where you are
I think of you

Now that I have had a mini massage with rubbed in my "drip" I am resting, resting, resting my wibbly wobbly legs, it is my youngest daughters leavers ball tonight and I have got to be horizontal to go take pictures before she and her friends leave. Only problem is her excitement is driving me nuts exhausting me and at the moment she is under my bed searching through boxes for just the right shade of nail polish, it was much easier when she was a tomboy.

Luck Ain't Even Lucky

Today's prompt from her space my space is lucky

This is my lucky Greek eye charm.
Some Greeks, especially in villages, believe that someone can catch the evil eye, or “matiasma”, from someone else’s jealousy or envy.To avoid the matiasma, those who believe in it wear a charm: a little blue marble glass with an eye painted on it . Blue is believed to be the colour that wards off the evil eye and brings you good luck
Lyrics from "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi
This is for the ones who stood their ground
For Tommy and Gina who never backed down
Tomorrow's getting harder make no mistake
Luck ain't even lucky
Got to make your own breaks
