Consume

Todays prompt from HSMSHS is Consume
To eat, drink, use up, obsess, or expend. Find 'consume' in your space

Lyrics from Roots Of Love by David Gray

And its rainin' in my kitchen
A storm in my front room
The instructions don't say nothing
Just desire consume
And the stars are falling right into my eye
Might be built out of sand
But maybe baby it's paradise

Like A Beaten Up And Faded Photograph

Today's prompt from HSMSHS is Beaten

To be shaped or worn by force, or to lose in competitive play, show us Beaten in your space.

I can usually manage most of the daily prompts, but this one has..... got me beaten

Lyrics from Back In The Day by Ronan Keating

All of those things are in the past
Like a beaten up and faded photograph
Can’t remember your name,
Who are you again?
You’re history

Contemplate

Prompt from HSMSHS is Contemplate

To think about intently and at length. Find 'contemplate' in your space

Lyrics from One Of My Turns by Pink Floyd

This is just a passing phase
Just one of my bad days
Would you like to watch T. V.?
Or get between the sheets?
Or contemplate the silent freeway?
Would you like something to eat?
Would you like to learn to fly?
Would you like to see me try?

Medicine

Today's prompt from HSMSHS is Medicine

The art of restoring and preserving health or substance taken internally to preserve health. Show us medicine in your space.

Lyrics from Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan

Johny's in the basement
Mixing up the medicine
I'm on the pavement
Thinking about the government
The man in the trench coat
Badge out, laid off
Says he's got a bad cough
Wants to get it paid off
Look out kid
It's somethin' you did
God knows when
But you're doin' it again
You better duck down the alley way
Lookin' for a new friend
The man in the coon-skip capI
n the big pen
Wants eleven dollar bills
You only got ten

Drawn Blank

Yesterday I was thrilled to be able to view a collection of artwork by Bob Dylan. The collection entitled "The Drawn Blank Series" are based on sketches and drawings made by Dylan while on the road from 1989 to 1992.
Gazing at Bob's paintings you are transported to another world, songs come to mind, and I felt privileged to have been able to step inside the life of a artist on tour. The painting are in mixed media, the colours are vivid, they depict the blankness of a life, of endless nondescript journeys, only punctuated by the sameness of empty hotel rooms, they are observational and notable for their rich colours and strong, dark lines.
I felt as if I had been on a journey with him which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Obviously there was a strict "No Photography" rule and obviously I obeyed it !

Heading out afterwards into the streets of Edinburgh, I felt like a tourist, happily snapping away and as usual took way too many pictures which are going to take me days to troll through. One thing I have noticed is that I appear to have a obsession with photographing peoples feet and stairs.

A Chinese meal

A stroll down Rose Street, famous for its' pubs

Some music

And finally back home, beyond weary, legless, maxed out on painkillers but with a happy glow and a contented feel.
Today, well lets just say I think someone has injected me with formaldehyde whilst at the same time dissecting my brain, hope they use me for research :) Was it worth it....YES
